As college students, we’ve all been there. There are four to five weeks until the end of the semester, and we all want to enjoy our well-deserved vacation. In order to get there though, we usually have finals for all our classes at around the same time, and it’s a burden. It’s stressful, time-consuming, and can unfortunately keep us from getting the results we want. Our goal is to help our fellow students reduce the amount of stress they get from finals in a fast and easy manner.
So what exactly is stress? And what are some signs or symptoms of stress?
According to pbs.org, stress is your body’s response to anything that disrupts your normal life and routine.
It can affect your body, mood, and behavior. Some of its signs include:
What can be done to manage or treat stress?
If you have symptoms of stress, there are many strategies on how you can manage it.
Physical activity has health benefits beyond the reduction of stress and it is also one of the best ways to treat it. Have fun and stay consistent with it for on-going results!
Some types of physical activity that can be done:
· 30 minutes of moderate exercise, 3 times a week
· Jogging
· Weight Lifting
· Yoga
· Cycling
Other tips to manage stress:
· Get enough sleep
· Reduce caffeine
· Avoid smoking, alcohol, drugs
· Eat well
· Manage your time more efficiently
· Study in groups
Some benefits of physical activity on stress include:
· Decreases overall level of tension
· Elevates and stabilizes mood
· Improves sleep
· Improves alertness and concentration
· Improvement of overall fitness
